Actually not too far away — we’re still on the fanny pack theme. And what a fratty little thing this nylon contraption has turned into. We’re sure this boy’s father is perplexed at the disappearance of his fanny pack in the weeks prior to his Jamaica vacation.

Awwww, the man in tight white shorts is ahead of the pack and he’s wearing our favorite accessory. Don’t these Ontario tourists with varying levels of enthusiasm remind you of something furrier and much much cuter?

We love America too and all, but it’s hard to warrant packing this kind of outfit on a simple summer trip to New England, the land of seersucker. And if this is just a typical vacation outfit, don’t you wonder what this couple looks like on the Fourth of July?

We divert from our usual making fun of tourists to bring you this motel “tourist camp” postcard from the 1920s — a time when motels didn’t advertise their HBO and weren’t singularly used by cheating spouses. Instead they housed tourists (without fanny packs) who wanted all the wonderful amenities life had to offer. Ahh, we wish we were around to make fun of them.
