…we like to travel and find that lots of other interesting and annoying characters do too. So instead of pointing fingers we clicked our cameras but didn’t ask them to smile. And after lots of practice, we found that tourists everywhere aren’t only distinguished by their fashionable fanny packs; instead they say and do things that any city inhabitant can obnoxiously laugh about. Hence, the first ever tourist humor blog was born (seriously we searched and searched and couldn’t find any others).
So how often do we come across awkward scampering tourists? Well, when we’re not hopping on planes or hitting the road, living in a cramped dirty and fashion-obsessed city still gives us plenty to blog about. And even if we try to stay confined to a single East Village block, a tourist manages to cross our path every 80.3 seconds* — often we just yell for them to get out of our way and sometimes we snap a (sometimes blurry) picture.
Love and lots of maps,
the people of fanny pack antics

Hi fanny-packers
As much as I love your pics of hapless confused tourists, I couldn’t help but think how easy travelling must be for them- when I went to Paris last summer I had to sneak into a public toilet just to open up a map. Yep that was the extent of my tourist-shame. PLUS I had to walk around in heels (god forbid I walk around Paris in comfy trainers!). So really, who’s laughing at who??

Love it! I work near the Mall in DC, so I run into tourists pretty every time I’m outside the building from April to October, plus the December Christmas rush. I cannot help but laugh sometimes, especially when they ask me how to find the Smithsonian. Ummm, which one? I’ll have to start stashing a camera in my bag.
